Keep Cheese Fresh: I learned this a few years back, a friend told me if you wrap your cheese up after you open it, it will help keep it fresh longer. We do this a lot with block cheese, I slice it up and then fully wrap in aluminum foil! It prevents smells getting into the cheese! Works like a charm!
Wrap Celery: To keep celery fresher longer, wrap in foil and it will last up to four weeks in the refrigerator!
Perfect Crusts: When you go to bake a pie sometimes the crust can get a little darker than you want. Simply put a layer of aluminum foil just around the edges of the pie. Bake the pie like normal and around 10 minutes before pie comes out, remove the aluminum foil. I crinkly the foil around the crust. You can buy things to cover the crust, but if you don’t have one, this is a cheap alternative!
Soften Brown Sugar: Don’t throw away that hard brown sugar anymore! Wrap up the piece of brown sugar in aluminum foil and bake in a 300 degree oven for five minutes. This will make it soft again!
Bananas: Put aluminum foil at the top of the bunch and this will help them from ripening so fast.
