Not wanting to spend a fortune on new prescription lenses and frames? No need to freak…find the lenses you love for cheap! And with some options you can buy them with just the click of a button.
Ok confession time, up until this past October I put off going to the eye doctor for almost 8 years! I know that’s bad, and embarrassing to admit. Part of me kept putting it off because I knew I would go and have to get a different prescription lenses and my last ones cost a pretty penny so I tried to stretch them out as long as I could. After dragging my feet for years , I finally decided to go and after I got my prescription I did a lot of research and came across so many inexpensive and CUTE ( yes CUTE) eyewear 🙂
Even though our yearly eye exam is fully covered, unfortunately prescription lenses and frames are not, what I learned is many eye doctors may offer a decent military discount, I know mine did! So if you really want to get your glasses through them be sure to ask if they offer a military discount!
I came across this website when a friend of mine came over one night and had the cutest glasses on, and she said she got them from Zenni! And guess what?!?! She spent less than $30 on them, and that’s with her prescription 🙂 They have so many styles and prices ranging from $5 and up! They even have an app where you can upload your picture to see what the frames would look like on you! For this price you could buy several pairs! I know I plan on grabbing a few myself 😉
Check it out here!
While a little more expensive than Zenni, Warby Parker offers stylish prescription lens and frames (you give them your prescription) starting around $95 and that’s including the prescription lenses. The best part is before you buy you can pick five of your favorite styles and they will send them to you for free to try on for a couple days and then send them back. That way you can see which ones look best on you! I tried it out and was very impressed with the frames, quality and the speedy service! Try it out 🙂
While I don’t personally have any experience with these companies I did see them mentioned in a Huffington Post article http://www.huffingtonpost.com/2015/06/11/stylish-glasses-cheap_n_7555650.html
They all seem to offer very reasonably priced frames and lenses, all while not having to leave the comforts of your house 🙂 Not to mention some have name brand designers, so if you just gotta have those designer lenses check them out!
Local Chain Stores
Many stores such as Costco, Target, and Wal- Mart have their own optical department. Not only do they offer cheaper eye exams but many have reasonably priced lenses and frames, and you get to try them all on in person 🙂
Recycle old frames
Maybe you have a pair of frames you just love but need a new prescription? Instead of buying all new glasses just have your new prescription lenses put into your old frames.
So there you have it, great options to find affordable prescription lenses that are super cute and stylish! You are no longer limited. I’m happy to report I finally have a new pair of glasses and love them! I also saved some serious moola!
