Quite a number of times, I’ve found myself searching for the perfect item to store something in my own home! There are so many different ways we can use the items in our home to give them a second life. Whether it’s the glass jars from your pasta sauce or that milk jug you’re about to throw away, you can reuse a number of items in your home. Here are 5 ways how you can reuse and repurpose items throughout your home!
Glass Jars and Containers
All of us probably have at least one glass jar or container laying somewhere around our house being unused. These jars can be great for storing homemade food products such as jams, salsa, and sauces. They can even be used to store bulk pantry items as well! There are a million ways to reuse these jars beyond food. Put them to use as organizers for your desk or bathroom, or repurpose them to decorate your home.
Plastic containers are great for housing homemade cleaning products, but that’s not the only use you can get out of them! Turn your plastic soda bottles or food bins into a bird feeder for your porch, make self watering seed pots, or even a cell phone charging station out of your old shampoo bottles. You can also use those takeout containers over and over again to store your leftovers.
It seems like now more than ever, our homes are over run with paper clutter. There are tons of ways you can repurpose your paper products, and give them a whole new life! There are tons of tutorials out there for craft products such as baskets or trays that can be made with magazines or newspapers. Turn your newspapers or grocery bags into wrapping paper, and use your old calendars to make your own envelopes.
Old Clothes and Linens
Have your clothes or linens seen better days? Don’t throw them out just yet! These make great cleaning rags for your home! You can also use them to make dusters or even a rug!
I don’t know about you, but my home is overrun by plastic bags. There are tons of great uses for these such as pet waste bags or even trash bin liners! I like to save some of them to reuse at the grocery store if they’re in good shape.
